Flatiron Residence

New York
2018

Austerity does sometimes intersect with epic festivities. Two large floor to ceiling doors, disguised as part of a single continuous wall, bisects the one bedroom unit. Behind the hidden doors are thrilling, they lead to a completely black bathroom, acting as an accelerant and a slight of hand. The pristine gallery white walls meet the dramatic all-black bathroom in the center of the home, the tension between the matte sea salt white paint and the coarse dark slate stone of the bathroom is the perfect pas des deux. It’s an art gallery, but it’s also an alluring spa.
